Multi Head Line Machine Manufacturers

I have recently heard an intersting story. At the moment, I am gonna leave names out of it so that I can just get some hard cold facts. Is it true that the hardness/softness of the water can make your belts slip on the conveyor system? If this is true, do you ask the shop to have their water tested prior to taking their check for $130+k? What is the solution for this problem? If this is normal, I will not be buying a multi head, thats for sure.
